For Whom the Hell Tolls
You can put the toll booths up there as one of life's worst inventions. Sometimes they try planting shrubs and flowers around them in an attempt to pretty up the toll plazas. The plants choke and die in the fumes.
I imagine toll booths are responsible for more excess car pollution, needless traffic congestion, as well as wasted fuel and time for every person who has to wait, stop, and go to pay a toll. They are smelly, ugly, noisy things with the only purpose to collect money, which beyond employing toll collectors could be done in any number of other less costly, less wasteful, and more cost efficient ways. Even the money spent to implement EasyPass for tax collection is a red herring.
